River Hill Car Break-Ins, Tamar Drive Assault: Columbia Crime
Police said a commercial burglary was also reported.

The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents.
A screen was cut in the 7500 block of Monarch Mills Way. A resident heard a noise, then saw a man running away outside. The attempted burglary was reported at 9:50 p.m. on April 4.
Cash was stolen from a safe inside Five Below in the Gateway Overlook shopping center. The suspect got into the store without force and deactivated the alarm before taking money. The burglary happened at 4:30 a.m. on April 4.

A camera and jewelry were stolen in a home burglary in the 5400 block of Hesperus Drive. The suspect(s) broke the back window and cut the screen to get into the residence between 7 and 9 p.m. on April 3.
A man in his 20s sustained minor injuries as the result of a street robbery in the 8900 block of Tamar Drive. The victim was walking when two teenagers came up to him and one assaulted him at 2:30 p.m. on April 3. They went through his pockets but did not take anything. Police said the suspects were described as 17-year-old black men with close-cut hair. One was thin, 5’8” tall and wearing a long-sleeved black shirt. The other was shorter than 5’8” and wearing all black clothing. The victim did not know the suspects and provided their ages as estimates, according to police spokeswoman Mary Phelan.

Laptops, cash, jewelry, an iPod, car radio and CDs were stolen as the result of multiple car break-ins overnight on April 3. The front right window was shattered in most cases to get inside the vehicles. A total of eight vehicles were broken into, parked in the 6900 block of Berry Wood Court and the 7100 block of Morning Light Trail.
