Police ID Columbia Man Murdered in Apartment
Officers found the Columbia man after he had not been seen for two days, and a homicide investigation ensued.
COLUMBIA, MD — The man who was found dead in his Columbia apartment Tuesday has been identified.
Martin Edward Mullineaux, 62, of the 8700 block of Hayshed Lane, appeared to have died from traumatic injuries, police said; officers went to his apartment before noon Tuesday because someone reported he had not been seen Monday or Tuesday.
Investigators said it appeared Mullineaux was killed inside his apartment.

Mullineaux's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause and time of death, police reported.
Authorities said there were not any signs of forced entry at the apartment, where Mullineaux was the only person on the lease.
