Robbery At Owen Brown Bank Of America Traced To Columbia Man
A Columbia man has been charged in a recent Bank of America robbery less than a half-mile from where he lives.

COLUMBIA, MD — A Columbia man has been charged in connection with a Bank of America robbery that happened in January, police reported this week. The robbery had prompted a reward from the FBI.
Marquise Brandon Brown, 19, of the 7300 block of Broken Staff, has been charged with robbery; theft from $100 to $1,500; and second-degree assault.
Police said the charges, filed this week, stem from the Jan. 10 robbery of the Bank of America in the 7100 block of Cradlerock Way.

At 10:41 a.m. that day, police allege Brown went to the count counter, acted like he had a gun and demanded cash. Officials previously said the man handed a note to the teller announcing the robbery.
He left after receiving the money, and nobody was injured, according to officials. At the time of the crime, police said the robber ran toward a parking lot behind the bank.

Brown lives approximately 0.4 mile from the bank in the Owen Brown Village Center, in the Lakeside area.
The FBI had offered a $5,000 reward for information in the case. Authorities described the suspect as 5-feet-8-inches tall and of a small build. Court records show Brown is 5-feet-8 inches tall and 120 pounds. While the original suspect description estimated the robber was in his 20s, the man charged is 19 years old.
Brown was arrested Friday and released after posting bond, court records show. He has a preliminary hearing in Howard County District Court slated for March 16.
