Shell Station Robbed, Pedestrian Cut: Columbia Crime

COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent crimes in Columbia. Over the weekend, a burglary, robbery and cutting occurred. Also multiple vehicles were stolen.

There was a burglary at Bonchon in the 10100 block of Twin Rivers Road early Saturday morning, according to police. Alcohol and change were stolen during the burglary. Police said the burglar(s) got into the restaurant through an unlocked front door at 4:27 a.m. on Saturday, June 29.

Cutting On Hickory Ridge Road

A teenage boy walking in the 10700 block of Hickory Ridge Road was cut with a sharp object during an assault over the weekend. The assault occurred between 1:30 and 2 a.m. on Saturday, June 29.

Police said that a black man wearing a white tank top approached the teen, and a physical altercation ensued, at which point authorities allege the suspect produced a sharp object and cut the teen's hand.

The suspect was described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 170 pounds with shaved hair.

After the cutting, police said the suspect took off, and the victim sought treatment at the hospital, where officials said he was treated and released for a cut on the hand.

Shell Station Robbed

The Shell station in the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way was robbed by two older teens, according to officials. Police said that the two tried to steal cigarettes at 11:47 p.m. on Saturday, June 29. When the employee intervened, the two suspects assaulted him, officials said. Nobody was injured, and the investigation is ongoing.

4 Vehicles Stolen During Overnight Hours

Vehicles were stolen from various areas around Columbia at the end of the week through the weekend.

A 2004 white Ford E-250 was stolen from Flowerstock Row overnight between Thursday, June 27, and Friday, June 28. Its license plate is MD/2DR6150.

A 2007 black/gray Suzuki GSR750 motorcycle was stolen from the 10400 block of Faulkner Ridge Circle overnight between Thursday, June 27, and Friday, June 28. Its license plate is MD/27408Y.

A 2010 blue Nissan Altima was stolen from the 8500 block of Black Star Circle overnight between Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29. It has Maryland tags that say "3DG7900."

A 2014 Mazda 6 was stolen from the 8800 block of Stonebrook Lane overnight between Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29. Officials said it was recovered nearby, and various items that had been inside were stolen.
