Tornado Touched Down in HoCo: Weather Service
The National Weather Service said the storm was responsible for tree into building.

When a tree fell onto an apartment building in Laurel last week, a tornado had ripped it out of the ground, the National Weather Service reported Monday.

Howard County was under a tornado warning from 1 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, when the twister blew through the area.

The tornado touched down at 1:13 p.m. approximately 200 yards south of Knights Bridge Road, with winds blowing 55 to 65 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
After uprooting a large tree near the Bowling Brook Apartments at Savage Mill, the tornado traveled 0.4 mile, shearing branches along a hillside near the apartment, the weather service reported; the tornado also snapped a sign before dissipating prior to Gorman Road.
