Annapolis Cake and Candy Supply, Inc. Moves to Crofton

For over 30 years, Annapolis Cake and Candy Supply, Inc., has been working hard to provide customers with their cake and candy making supplies, as well as be a place to compare stories and exchange ideas.

Previously housed in a tiny building near the Annapolis Mall, owner Kathy Thomas recently relocated to the Crofton Depot Shopping Center on Defense Highway.

The store is a well-kept secret to those who love cake baking and decorating.

They sell many types of baking pans and all supplies needed for cake decorating. The store carries Satin Ice fondant (Just like the Cake Boss uses); cake fillings; flavored oils; and sweet toppings. They also sell candy molds and all items needed for candy making.

Owner Kathy Thomas said, “The favorite part of my business is the customers. It’s fun to hear their new ideas and when they share their stories about their baking.” It’s also a place to exchange recipes and offer advice on baking.

She shared a story about a long-time customer who came in for a cake decorating class. Her children told her she shouldn’t do it, which made the challenge all the sweeter. 15 years later, she has a good side job baking wedding cakes and she and the owner have become long-time friends.

Ms. Thomas does not have the capacity to hold classes at her shop, but she does do classes for groups who want to hold them on their site. She also has “Birthday Cake” birthday parties where she comes to your location and shows the group how to make birthday cakes.

If you have ever wanted to bake an unusual sized cake for a special occasion, but didn’t want to buy the pan she will rent pans, trays, and stands for your project. Cake pans are rented for $2/day.
