Q&A: Talking Triniti

Nevada Wease talked with Crofton Patch about her daughter Triniti Wilburn. The Crofton Meadows Elementary student has Anaplastic large cell Lymphoma. Wease explains how Triniti is working though therapy, studies and fundraisers for her therapy.

Q: How is Triniti doing these days?

A: She is handling the chemo well! We know that it can change at any minute. She is getting excited about going to camp with other children and adults that have or had cancer. It is called Camp Sunrise.

A: She no longer has to have the LP (Lumbar Punctures) Spinal Taps. So we shall see. The last time she had chemo it upset her belly more than the past.

Q: Can you breakdown Triniti's illness so that others can understand what she's fighting?

A: Triniti has Anaplastic large cell Lymphoma which is a blood cancer. It is rare in children—it only affects about 7 percent of children. Her’s is non-hodgkins. We are looking at eight or so months left of chemo.

Q: What are Triniti's plans for the upcoming school year?

A: She will not be able to attend school until March 2012 or possibly later. So we will have a teacher that will come to our home three times a week for two hours at a time.

Q: How are Crofton and Gambrills neighbors reaching out to your family?

A: Our good friend has written about Triniti in another publication and people have donated money and some have just sent words of encouragement and we have more and more people who are praying for Triniti.

It is so great when we go out and people come up and say “hi” to Triniti. It makes her feel like a celebrity.
