19-Year-Old Dundalk Man Killed in Industrial Accident: Police

Police have identified the employee at Maryland Metals Processing who died in a machine.

SPARROWS POINT, MD โ€” A Dundalk teen died in an industrial accident Wednesday at a metal processing plant on North Point Boulevard, police said.

Colin Richard Kelley, 19, of the 7500 block of Old Battle Grove Road, was crushed after being pulled into a machine that rolls steel at Maryland Metals Processing, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police said Kelley became entangled in a steel coil while he was working on a coil polish machine, which rolls steel.

When first responders arrived at the metal processing facility in the 4400 block of North Point Boulevard, they immediately pronounced Kelley deceased, according to officials.

Police said Kelley had been working at Maryland Metals Processing for approximately one month.

Law enforcement ruled out foul play in the incident, which police said Maryland Occupational Safety and Health officials were investigating.
