Carbon Monoxide, Fire Draw Firefighters To Dundalk Saturday: BCFD
Fire officials said that one person was hospitalized after crews were called to Dundalk on Saturday, Dec. 1.

DUNDALK, MD โ A carbon monoxide incident and a fire were reported in two separate cases in Dundalk on Saturday, Dec. 1. Officials said both occurred in the course of about two hours in locations less than 2 miles apart.
There were 11 people evaluated after a carbon monoxide call, according to authorities.
Crews were called to the 2500 block of Fairway at 8:22 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, where they checked individuals for symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure.

One person was hospitalized with an unrelated issue, while fire officials reported 10 others refused further care.
About 400 people die annually from carbon monoxide poisoning not linked to fires, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It happens when the gas, which is colorless and odorless, builds up indoors and sickens people.

Symptoms of CO poisoning are often described as "flu-like," according to officials. Headache, vomiting, upset stomach, confusion, weakness, dizziness and chest pain are some commonly reported issues associated with the illness, the CDC reports.
The carbon monoxide call was the second incident that drew fire crews to Dundalk on Saturday, Dec. 1. An earlier incident happened less than 2 miles away.
At 6:24 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 8100 block of Dundalk Avenue.
Smoke was showing when crews arrived, officials said, and the fire was reportedly on the second floor of a home.
By 6:45 p.m., officials said the fire was knocked, and nobody had been injured.
