Edgemere Man Killed in Hit-and-Run

Baltimore County police officials are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in Edgemere Thursday night.

David Alexander Mack, 77, of the unit block Turtle Court in Edgemere, was declared dead at the scene after being struck by one car and run over by another at the intersection of North Point Road and Delmar Avenue, according to Cpl. John Wachter, a spokesman for the police department.

Police responded to the site of the crash at about 9:45 p.m. Thursday, where a detective found Mack's body in the northbound lane of North Point Road near Delmar Avenue, according to Wachter.

Medical personnel arrived and declared Mack dead at the scene.

The police department's preliminary investigation shows that Mack was standing in the northbound lane of North Point Road near Delmar Avenue when he was struck by one vehicle and then run over by another vehicle. Neither driver stayed on the scene; both fled. There are no descriptions available for either vehicle.

The incident is being investigated by the police department's Crash Team.
