Mr. Beeler, Apologize or Set the Record Straight

Buzz, you claimed to receive a letter from the Back River Restoration Committee about Joe DiCara, and then you published it. According to The East County Times (current edition), the letter actually came from a Todd Crandell supporter who used to be an officer in that organization but no longer is and doesn’t speak for them.

He came to them with the letter to endorse it, but they refused.

He then sent it to you, using their name. You made the decision to take it an run with it, as you obviously are on the lookout for anything to hurt Mr. DiCara.

The Dundalk Eagle made a big deal a few weeks ago about you not ’really’ being journalist. I’d like to know, did you contact the current officers of the BRRC to confirm that the letter came from them? If so, can you produce documentation that the organization is now misleading people?

What happened here Buzz? I’m looking for some clarification. By printing that letter and the attribution, you had a responsibility to check with them and confirm the organization sent it. Did you do that?
