Community Corner

Waterway Watchdog

Join us
for this training to learn about watching for pollution destined for Bear Creek,
how to report anything unusual, and how to use a pollution test kit.  Meet at DRC Office, 11 Center Place Tuesday,
July 30 from 6pm-8pm.  Room is limited so
please RSVP to Jacqueline at 410.282.0261 or email jacquline@dundalkusa.org for more information.

Things we will look out for: clogged stormdrains, dumping down stormdrains, discharge from stormdrains during dry weather; sewage spills; stream-bank erosion or sediment buildup, obstructions to boaters; and trash accumulation.  You will learn what to look out for and who to report these situations to.

Your participation will help to maintain cleaner water in the hope that Dundalk will once again swim and fish in Bear Creek.  This wont happen over night but it can happen gradually.  It will take the community working together to take care of our creek.  The first step is to find out more about what threatens the water and how we can stop it from happening.
