ATW Closes its Doors

After more than 20 years at its Edgewater location on Pike Ridge Road, ATW Hardware and Supply is closing its doors for good. Owner Ted Kramer said lack of business led to the decision to close.

Honey Hive Opens in Former Kahve Location

Within just a week of Kahve's closing, Cakes by Rachael opened Honey Hive, an artisan bakery in the South River Colony location. Honey Hive specializes in cupcakes, cakepops, European desserts and drinks, gelato and ice cream.

AutoZone Poised for July Opening

The AutoZone construction on Route 2 in Edgewater is coming along. A building has been developed and an opening date is near. District Manger Jeff Adams said the store does not have an exact opening date yet, but plans on being in business by the end of July.

Wharfside Transforms into Chad’s BBQ

After Wharfside owners Rick and Sandy Sargent decided to retire in May, their son Chad Sargent turned the restaurant into Chad's BBQ. The restaurant serves spare ribs and Texas hot links, which are made locally and to Chad's specification. Chad’s also smokes most of their meat, and offers a smoked meatloaf.

ThinkTank Accepting Signups 

Thinktank Education and Therapy opened this summer at 244E Mayo Rd. Run by a local mother and former teacher, Thinktank is an all-inclusive tutoring center that performs comprehensive education and psychological evaluations and assessments.
