Amilynn Coon, 9, is a fourth-grader at Shady Side Elementary School.

Patch stopped by Shady Side Elementary on Feb. 13 to talk with fourth-grader Amilynn Coon about school, what she has learned and what she likes to do for fun.
Edgewater Patch: What is your favorite thing about school?
Amilynn Coon: My teacher Ms. Evans because she gives us rewards like candy when we do good.
Edgewater Patch: What is something you learned recently in school?
Amilynn: We learned how to round decimals. We learned that a couple of days ago.

Edgewater Patch: What do you like to do for fun?
Amilynn: Soccer—I play indoor and I also like hunting. I have my own pellet gun. My soccer team is Storm. I play a lot of positions.
Edgewater Patch: What is your favorite thing about Shady Side Elementary School?
Amilynn: We are going on a field trip on Friday to the Carrie Weedon Science Center. And today we have a cotton candy party and we get to have class lunch bunch with Hotel Transylvania.

Edgewater Patch: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Amilynn: A veterinarian—my parents say I am really good with animals. I have two cats and two dogs.
