Area Schools Boast 41 National Board Certification Teachers
Five teachers from south county are included in the list of those earning National Board Certification.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) announced Friday that 41 teachers—five from south county—attained prestigious National Board Certification (NBC), according to a media release from schools spokesman Bob Mosier.
NBC status, the highest teaching credential in the nation, is earned by undergoing a rigorous self- and peer-evaluation process under terms directed by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.
The addition of these 41 teachers brings the total number of teachers who have earned the honor while working for the county to 314. Anne Arundel County boasts 14 percent of the teachers in the state who have earned board certification.
