Dirty Paws Dog Spa Opens for Business
The new Edgewater business is a full-service grooming saloon for pets.
Furry friends in the Edgewater area now have a new place where they can be pampered—Dirty Paws Dog Spa on Mayo Road is now open for business.
The new business is a full-service pet grooming saloon and owner Dale Edwards has plenty of experience in caring for pets.
Edwards has worked as a groomer elsewhere in the area for four years and said of his new pet spa, “Here we offer outstanding customer service and a safe place for pets.”

Dirty Paws opened at 113 Mayo Rd. on Friday and Edwards said a coupon to celebrate the opening will soon be mailed to local homes and be available on the shop's Facebook page.
Edwards, 29, is from the Arundel Mills area but said he chose to open his business in Edgewater because he enjoys the area and the people.

“My clientele base is here, and everybody is so nice,” Edwards said. “Pet grooming is my passion, and this is what keeps me going.”
Having grown up around pets his whole life, Edwards said becoming a groomer was a natural choice. He said he was trained by a groomer with more that 25 years of experience and now knows the business well.
“I get it done in a timely manner, and I treat their pets like they are my own,” Edwards said. “I enjoy experiencing each dog's personality, and I like connecting with their owners because they are trusting me with their pet.”
Dirty Paws offers haircuts, nail trims and baths with prices for a haircut starting at $45, depending on the breed. Bath prices range from $24-$90. Edwards said Dirty Paws uses and sells natural products made in the United States.
Edwards said opening a pet grooming business was something he has always wanted to do. He gets to bring his Great Dane, Brutus, to work with him each day and says there is nothing he would rather do.
“It was something where I woke up one morning and was like this is what I want to do and I stuck with it,” he said. “I can’t see myself doing anything else, ever.
