Driver Flown to Hospital After Crash into Tree
Anne Arundel County Fire officials say the victim was flown to Shock Trauma with serious injuries.

EDGEWATER, MD — A man was flown to Shock Trauma with serious injuries Sunday after his car plowed into a tree in Edgewater, authorities say.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department says the one-vehicle crash happened just before midnight Sunday in the area of Solomons Island Road and Brick Church Road. The vehicle had run through a fence and struck a tree.
Firefighters took 25 minutes to extricate the driver and sole occupant, a 26-year-old man, who was trapped in the vehicle.

Paramedics took the victim to a Maryland State Police helicopter that had landed at Lee Airport. The patient was flown to Shock Trauma with injuries that were serious, but not believed life threatening.
Authorities have not released the driver’s name or address.
