Edgewater House Fire Displaces 4 Residents: Officials
Four people were displaced after fire damaged their Edgewater house on Nov. 10, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
EDGEWATER, MD — Four people were displaced after fire damaged their Edgewater house on Nov. 10, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The blaze was reported at 2:25 a.m. in the 1600 block of Havre De Grace Drive.
Firefighters said flames were coming from a first-floor window at the front of a split-level, single-family house. Smoke alarms had alerted the residents to the fire, so they were able to escape without serious injuries before firefighters arrived.
Fire crews from Anne Arundel County, Annapolis City and the Naval Academy extinguished the fire in the family room area in less than 10 minutes, authorities said.

The fire displaced three adults and one juvenile. One person was taken by paramedics to Anne Arundel Medical Center for a medical emergency. There is no word on the victim's condition.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation unit and is undetermined.

Damages are estimated at $30,000.
