Fire Guts Single-Family House in West River: Fire Dept.

No injuries were reported in Wednesday's blaze, but one occupant was later taken to a hospital.

WEST RIVER, MD — A fire that broke out in the garage eventually destroyed a single-family house Wednesday and displaced two adults, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, the fire department said. Firefighters responded at about 2:25 p.m. Wednesday to the report of a garage on fire in the 900 block of Judge Court East.

They found that the fire had already spread from the attached garage into the two-story house. A second alarm brought 60 more firefighters to the scene; they came from Anne Arundel, Calvert and Prince George’s counties and Annapolis.
