Jake's Steaks Closing for Business Saturday
A manager says lack of business is the main reason for closing the Edgewater restaurant.

After more than 12 years in the South River Colony Marketplace, Jake's Steaks is closing its doors for good on Saturday.
Barb Gossett, who has been a manager at Jake's Steaks for three years, said a lack of business is the main reason for the close.
“I have a Greene Turtle, a Wendy’s and a Popeyes—everything in the world is right there in the parking lot,” Gossett said. “Our product is great, and I have tried to give really good service. We have regulars, but just not enough of them.”

Jake's will serve its last steaks on Saturday. Gossett said since she took over as manager, she has tried to get more people in the door but nothing has worked.
“I have tried everything,” she said. “I have done healthy items. If someone orders something that isn’t on the menu, I do my best to make that. I even did lunch specials trying to get people in the door. It just didn’t work.”
