LOTHIAN, MD — Anne Arundel County Police surrounded a Lothian trailer home Saturday afternoon as they sought a man who reportedly fired shots at his girlfriend, but the suspect was not inside. He later surrendered at a police station on six charges, including attempted murder.

The incident began about 2:30 p.m. Saturday when police were called to the area of Southern Maryland Boulevard and Sands Road in Lothian for a domestic dispute. The victim, a 41-year-old Lothian woman, told officers that her boyfriend, Martin Luther King Jr., shot at her vehicle several times as she was driving. The victim was not hurt.

Officers soon found King’s vehicle parked in the Lyons Creek Trailer Park and surrounded a residence where they believed he was inside. It was later determined that King, 26, of the 1500 block of 1524 Isle Court in Prince Frederick, was not inside the trailer.
