'Bandage Bank Robber' Hit Bank in Eldersburg: FBI

ELDERSBURG, MD – When a bank was robbed April 1 in Howard County, the suspect was familiar to federal investigators, who allege the same man robbed a bank in Eldersburg and a host of others in the last six months.

Known as the "Bandage Bank Robber," the suspect had his face partly covered by bandages when he went into the Capital One in the 6000 block of Marshalee Drive in Elkridge on Friday, April 1, the FBI reported.

He handed the teller a note announcing an armed robbery, demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the FBI, which claims he is linked to at least nine bank robberies since October 2015:

• Feb. 5—Howard Bank, 10985 John Hopkins Road, Scaggsville

• Dec. 30—Harford County FCU, 3422 Emmorton Road, Abingdon
• Dec. 29—Suntrust Bank, 3901 National Drive, Burtonsville
• Dec. 3—PNC Bank, 11717 Old National Pike, New Market
• Nov. 3—Susquehanna Bank, 6415 Ridge Road, Eldersburg
• Oct. 19—Capital One Bank, 402 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mount Airy

The "Bandage Bank Robber" is described as a black man who is approximately 5'8" and 160 pounds. According to a statement from the FBI, he wears a neck brace, eyeglasses and bandages to conceal his identity.
