Almost 80 HCPSS Teachers Attain National Board Certification

Howard County ranks among the top 5 MD school districts for the number of national board-certified teachers, including 76 with HCPSS.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Nearly 80 teachers with the Howard County Public School System has achieved national board certification, including 22 first-time achievers and 54 who renewed their certification. National Board Certification (NBC) is the highest-level credential in the educational profession.

Howard County sits among the top five Maryland districts by historical number of NBCTs, with a total of 212 teachers who have achieved national certification. HCPSS also ranks among the top five Maryland districts for the number of current National Board candidates, with more than 400 teachers pursuing certification.
