-Squares of paper

-Your 5 senses and imagination

Directions:

Using your writing utensils, create a chart with rainbow color dashes, circles, lines, etc. representing each color. If you are using an egg carton, color one color in the bottom of each section. (A chart is a way to keep track of different items, a check list)

Head outside! Using your senses, look around the park, your backyard, your street, find all of the colors on your chart. Collect and attach it to your chart or place in your egg carton/brown bag. (But don’t hurt the plants!!!)

If it’s something you cannot bring with you, DRAW the picture on your chart or on a loose square of paper and place inside your egg carton or brown bag.

After you have found all of your rainbow items, spread them out. How are they related? How are they different? How many are living things? How many are seasonal? How many grow? How many can you eat? How many are inanimate (not living)?

Write a story using your items! You are an explorer in a far off land searching for the magic “rainbow treasure”….how does it end?
