Confirmed Coronavirus Case Total In Howard County Reaches 17,494

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — As of Monday, Howard County has a total of 17,494 positive new coronavirus cases, according to the Howard County Health Department, and 234 deaths. The state has 418,188 confirmed cases and 8,177 deaths total, reports the Maryland Department of Health. More than 38,425 people have been hospitalized to date.

The following zip codes have the highest confirmed case counts in Howard County as of April 5:

• 21043 - 2,408 confirmed cases
• 21044 - 2,324 confirmed cases
• 21045 - 2,295 confirmed cases
• 20723 - 2,199 confirmed cases
• 21075 - 2,181 confirmed cases

The CDC advises doing the following to stop the spread of the virus:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If this is not available, use hand sanitizer that is at least 60 percent alcohol.
