The Small Business Administration is opening up a disaster assistance center in Howard County.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — The U.S. Small Business Administration will open up a Disaster Loan Center in Ellicott City on Tuesday to help residents and businesses affected by the May 27 flood. The federal agency will offer three types of loans from its new center in the Baltimore & Ohio Ellicott City Station Museum, which is scheduled to remain open for one week, until Aug. 7.

“Getting businesses and communities up and running after a disaster is our highest priority at SBA," Linda McMahon, administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA) said in a statement.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan requested assistance from the SBA, which prompted the opening of the relief center.
