Ellicott City Gas Station Vandalized: Police

The Howard County Police Department provides information about local crime.

An Ellicott City gas station was vandalized over the weekend in an attempted burglary, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, the two glass front doors at the Citgo in the 8300 block of Baltimore National Pike were shattered, police said.

The attempted break-in happened sometime between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., according to police.

Nothing was taken, police said.

Columbia: Hearing a loud noise, a resident in the 5300 block of Tarkington Place went to find out what it was and saw a stranger with no shirt on trying to climb through the back door. When the resident confronted the man at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Aug. 17, he left.

After hearing glass break at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 17, residents called police and left the home. Authorities found a basement window had been broken, and nothing was reported stolen.

Two bikes were stolen from an unlocked garage in the 5300 block of Mad River Lane between 10 p.m. on Aug. 14 and 6:45 a.m. on Aug. 15.

Clarksville: Someone stole a pair of fire extinguishers and caused property damage at Linden Linthicum Church in the 12100 block of Linden Linthicum Lane. The person got in through an unlocked window.

Elkridge: A leaf blower was stolen from an open garage in the 6600 block of Pheasant Drive between 12:15 and 1 p.m. on Aug. 18.

Glenelg: Someone broke into three model homes by smashing the basement windows in the 15000 block of Double Bridges Court between 2 p.m. on Aug. 16 and 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 17. A microwave and refrigerator were stolen from the first two residences, while nothing was removed from the third residence.

Laurel: A burglar got into a home in the 8400 block of William Street by pushing in an air conditioner. The burglary was happened between Aug. 12 and 15.

A power washer and tools were stolen from an unlocked shed sometime between Aug. 9 and 17.

West Friendship: A bathtub was stolen from a construction site in the 13500 block of Mitchells Way. The suspect(s) got in through a back door that was not secured, sometime between 2:45 p.m. on Aug. 16 and 9 a.m. on Aug. 17.

An air compressor was stolen from a construction site in the 13500 block of Mitchells Way, between 5 p.m. on Aug. 15 and 9 a.m. on Aug. 17. The suspect(s) forced open the front door.
