HCPSS Students Can Eat Free Meals During Spring Break
The meals will be served at three locations across Howard County from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Free lunches and snacks will be provided to Howard County students age 18 and younger during spring break April 6-9. The meals will be served at Howard County Library’s East Columbia Branch, Oakland Mills Middle School and the North Laurel Community Center from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. No application, fees or enrollment is required for the meals.
“The importance of a nutritious meal cannot be underestimated,” said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball in a statement. “Regular meals are an important part of a child’s growth and educational success, and we’re thankful to our community partners for ensuring lunch and snacks during school breaks."
The school district's partnership with the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS), the Department of Community Resources and Services (DCRS), Howard County Library System and Roving Radish provides the meals and helps students to not go hungry. Howard County Public School System Superintendent Michael Martirano said many students rely on the meals they eat at school each weekday.
