Howard County Schools Revise Weather Decision

The Howard County Public School System made announcement on Monday, Jan. 26.

UPDATE—The Howard County Public School System announced Monday morning that all schools will be closed on Jan. 26. All evening activities are cancelled, according to the announcement.

School offices will remain open.

The school system previously reported that it would open two hours late due to weather but it reassessed conditions and revised the decision at approximately 7:15 a.m.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Howard County until 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, with the potential for 3 to 6 inches of snow.

Liberal leave is in effect for Howard County government Monday.

Federal agencies are open with the option for unscheduled leave/telework.
