Longtime Ellicott City Eatery May be Torn Down For Chick-fil-A
The Double T Diner may close and be demolished in order to clear the site at 10055 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A 22-year-old eatery in Ellicott City could be torn down to make way for a new 5,000-square-foot Chick-fil-A restaurant. According to plans filed with Howard County, the Double T Diner may close and be demolished in order to clear the site at 10055 Baltimore National Pike.
Double T Diner is one of the local restaurant chain's seven locations in Greater Baltimore. Plans for the new building were presented to the Howard County Design Advisory Panel in January. A spokesperson with Howard County Planning and Zoning said a stormwater management plan for the project was submitted Feb. 28, according to the Baltimore Business Journal. Once approved, the planning department will review the plan.
Design plans presented to the county show renderings of a building similar to most Chick-fil-A restaurants along with signage. An architect with Bohler said during the presentation that the building is designed to have seating for 104 people inside and 16 outdoor seats.
