HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Third graders at Bryant Woods Elementary in Columbia on Wednesday morning enjoyed story time with Maryland judges dressed in their official robes.
As part of the Reading & Robes program, judges from the Supreme Court of Maryland, the Appellate Court of Maryland, local circuit courts and the District Court of Maryland read culturally diverse books with themes of justice, fairness and the law, according to WBAL.
Wednesday’s featured book was U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s children’s book, Turning Pages: My Life Story. Students also received a copy of The Highest Tribute: Thurgood Marshall’s Life, Leadership, and Legacy.
