Thistle Mill one of the many mills that thrived in the Patapsco River Valley in Illchester for many years has been on my mind alot recently as it is currently being demolished , the later additions are however. From what I understand the oldest sections of the mill which are the red brick will be preserved I have ben capturing this place in photos for several years now. Opening as a cotton mill around 1837,later served as a silk mill and became a paper mill when the Bartgis Bros purchased it in 1922. Has been closed and abandoned for many years.
