Woman Hit by Two Cars on I-70 After Fight with Boyfriend: Police
After fatal crash Tuesday night, police said I-70 was closed near US 29 for four hours.

MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD — Police said a Howard County woman died Tuesday night after she argued with her boyfriend, got out of the vehicle and was hit by two cars on Interstate 70. Detours were in place for four hours after the deadly crash.
Authorities said that Short had been driving on I-70 east before 10 p.m. when she and her boyfriend got into an argument.
Short pulled the vehicle over onto the right shoulder, walked into the road and was hit by two eastbound cars, according to police.

Multiple callers reported to 911 that a pedestrian had been hit on the highway; police said Short's boyfriend was among those who called.
As authorities investigated, eastbound I-70 was closed east of US 29; State Highway Administration officials diverted vehicles from I-70 east onto US 29. Police said the road reopened around 2 a.m.

The drivers of both vehicles that hit Short remained at the scene, and authorities say they do not anticipate filing any charges.
