Man Shot by Officer Now Faces 4 Charges: Police

The individual shot during a traffic stop had an 'owe list' as well as several types of suspected drugs on him, police said.

ESSEX, MD – Police have identified the passenger shot by an officer during a recent traffic stop as a Middle River man who now faces several drug and gun-related charges.

George Greenwood Willinger III, 37, of the unit block of Volz Avenue, is hospitalized in stable condition after he was shot by an officer, police said Wednesday.

Police said Willinger got out of a vehicle during a traffic stop on Old Eastern at Harrison avenues around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Officer Olszewski, a seven-year veteran of the department assigned to the Essex precinct, opened fire after Willinger suddenly put his hand in the area of his waistband and turned toward the officer, causing the policeman to fear for his life, officials said. The officer has been placed on administrative assignment pending a review.

On Willinger’s person, authorities said they found baggies containing yellow and orange pills, a white rock substance and an “owe sheet.”

Willinger will be held without bail on charges including possession with intent to distribute drugs, possession of drugs other than marijuana and handgun violations.

The man driving the 2006 Nissan Altima that Willinger had been riding in was also charged, police said.

Timothy Eric Dudeck, 29, of the unit block of Schooner Bay Court, has been charged with possession of drugs wtih the intent to distribute, firearms violations and other charges. Dudeck was released on $100,000 bail, police said.

Officers who searched Dudeck said they found suspected Oxycodone pills, suspected cocaine and more than $1,800 in cash on his person. When detectives executed a search warrant on the vehicle, they found a handgun, a scale, and more than $400 in cash inside, according to police.
