We can hardly believe it, but yes, kids are already back to school here in Frederick County! At Villages of Urbana, we’re lucky enough to have incredible public schools within walking distance to our beautiful, newly built townhomes – making our community the ideal choice for any family.

At Villages of Urbana, our residents are served by the new Centerville Elementary School, new Urbana Middle School and the newly renovated Urbana High School. All are within a few minutes to Villages of Urbana and boast several achievements and accolades that make us proud to enroll our children in these establishments.

There has been a big push to bring more public education to the area with the population increases in Frederick County, answering to the demands of new families. This makes public education accessible to all families while also providing facilities that are brand new. The newest addition, Centerville Elementary School, is built right here in the Villages of Urbana community and now features a gymnasium and playing fields. This school prides itself in prepping students with critical learning skills and habits that will resonate with them throughout their entire education.

Just less than 10 years old, Urbana Middle School(UMS) is another newly built public school that students at Villages of Urbana can attend. Principal Michelle Concepcion says that the “UMS staff promises to grow professionals, partner with parents and the community, and continue fostering academic achievement in order for all of our students to soar to excellence.”

And lastly, the newly renovated Urbana High School (UHS), home of the Hawks, has many noteworthy achievements to its name. Along with countless athletic championships, Newsweek Magazine also ranked UHS among the top 2% of American High Schools. Last spring, UHS had the Highest Combined Mean Score on the SAT in Frederick County, and the highest percentage of seniors to take the SAT. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, which can better prepare them for life and education after high school.
