Quick Tip: Don't Be a Social Media Spammer

Blogger Robin Ferrier talks about why she hates the "good morning" social media messaging.

So for today's Quick Tip I'm going to talk about one of my social media pet peeves... and I'm sure I'm going to piss off a lot of people with it. Because a lot of people do it. A lot of people in my network do it. A lot of people in my network who are social media experts do it. What, exactly, am I talking about?

It's what I call the pointless social media Tweet/Google+/FB update. The "good morning world" message that contains nothing more than a "hello." It's a pointless message that only serves to clutter up FB or Twitter feeds with content no one needs and that isn't amusing/instructive/helpful... or even INTERESTING. And it doesn't tell me much about you, other than what time you first check your social media networks in the morning.

So my advice to you: Don't clutter your followers/friends feeds with messages that don't contribute. Don't be a social media spammer...
