Gaithersburg Community Museum celebrates Gaithersburg’s long and storied history with the railroad during “Train Days at the Museum.” On July 16 and August 20, 2011, train builders from the BANTRAK T Trak Division will set up small scale model trains. Visitors are invited to view the model train displays, tour a caboose filled with local train history, visit the 1918 steam locomotive on display in the adjacent History Park, and shop for train-related items in the Museum gift shop. With any luck you can also enjoy the sights and sounds of the actual CSX, Amtrak and MARC trains that rumble past the Museum on a regular basis.
