Fundraiser Held For Family Of MD Man Killed On Dewey Beach Highway

Sid Wolf, 43, of Clarksburg was killed Sunday when he was hit by a car in Dewey Beach​ following a disagreement with a Lyft driver.

CLARKSBURG, MD — Friends of a Montgomery County man killed on a Delaware highway over the weekend have launched a fundraising campaign to help the man’s family.

Sid Wolf, 43, of Clarksburg was killed Sunday when he was hit by a car in Dewey Beach following a disagreement with a Lyft driver who ordered him and his friends out of their vehicle, according to Delaware State Police.

The incident happened just before 1:45 a.m. Sunday on southbound Route 1 south in Dewey Beach. Wolf and his friends hired a Lyft driver to pick them up in Dewey Beach and take them back to where they were staying in Bethany Beach.

The fundraising campaign was set up to assist Wolf’s wife Lindsey and their daughters.

“Sid always had a smile on his face and was a great husband, father, friend, and neighbor to so many of us,” the GoFundMe campaign page reads. “We hope to raise enough funds so that Lindsey does not have to worry about household expenses right now.”

“While neighbors organized this campaign, all funds are intended to and will go directly to Lindsey's account,” the GoFundMe page says.
