Gaithersburg to Participate in National Night Out Against Crime

Five neighborhoods in Gaithersburg have events planned for Aug. 5. Find the complete lineup of events here.

Mark your calendars for the 31st annual National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Five neighborhoods in Gaithersburg have events planned to increase drug prevention awareness, generate support for anti-crime programs, encourage residents to be involved in their communities and send a message that neighborhoods and businesses are organized to fight back against crime.

Participating neighborhoods include:

Saybrooke. Cookout at the Community Pool, 702 Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Quince Orchard Park. Outdoor picnic and demonstrations at the Community Center, 500 Highland Ridge Road from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Brighton Village Apartments. Event at the Community Pool, 345 West Side Drive from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Kentlands. Ice cream social at Kentlands Community Center, 485 Tschiffely Square Road from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Child identity kits will be distributed for home use along with informational brochures.

Montgomery Meadows. Residents are asked to turn on porch lights to show community support for deterring crime and maintaining a safe neighborhood.
