GALLERY: Gaithersburg Routs Richard Montgomery 15-2 in Varsity Baseball

The Trojans blew the game wide open in the third inning.

After a slow start at the plate and spotting Richard Montgomery a 1-0 lead, Gaithersburg came alive to score a resounding 15-2 victory in 5 innings at Gaithersburg High School.

The Trojans took advantage of some poor pitching and fielding by Richard Montgomery during the bottom of the second inning to take the lead.  Then, in the bottom of the third inning, Gaithersburg blew the game open with lively bats and excellent base running.  In a game with many great performers, Senior Second Baseman Michael Toomer (#12) stood out by accounting for 7 runs (4 runs batted in and 3 runs scored).

Gaithersburg improved to 7-1 on the season.
