MD Dad Charged In Child's Accidental Shooting, Court Docs Show

Lascelle Lee, a 32-year-old man of Upper Marlboro, was charged in the accidental shooting of his six-year-old son, court documents show.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — A father is facing several charges after his six-year-old boy was killed in an accidental shooting inside their home.

Court records show that 32-year-old Lascelle Lee is charged with involuntary manslaughter, neglect of a minor, reckless endangerment and allowing a minor's access to a loaded firearm.

The shooting took place Feb. 17 at a townhome on the 10100 block of Maple Leaf Drive in Montgomery Village.

Police said six-year-old Lascelle Lee IV had fatally shot himself in the face. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prosecutors are arguing that Lee left a loaded, unsecured gun in a place where his son would have access to the firearm.

Lee has been released pending trial. He is due back in court on April 24.
