• Car Catches Fire While Underneath Gaithersburg Carport: MCFRS (patch.com) — Residents near Rambling Road in Gaithersburg may have noticed fire crews Sunday evening after a Jeep caught fire under a home's carport, though no one was hurt and the house was largely spared. Officials haven't identified a cause, but the incident comes amid a nationwide recall of certain Jeep models over fire risks tied to steering pump wiring. 
• MD Hispanic student enrollment drops amid immigration fears (thedailyrecord.com) — Hispanic student enrollment is dropping across Maryland, and advocates say stepped-up immigration enforcement is scaring some families away from public schools. Montgomery County is among the hardest hit, and protesters recently rallied in Gaithersburg urging stronger local limits on cooperation with immigration authorities after a local mother of three was detained.
