Police Release Identity of Man Found Dead On Gaithersburg Road

Montgomery County Police have identified the dead man who was lying on a Gaithersburg road Tuesday morning.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Montgomery County Police have identified the dead man who was lying on a Gaithersburg road Tuesday morning as 34-year-old Dammeon Terrell Powell.

Shortly before 8:45 a.m., police responded to the report and found the Gaithersburg resident at the intersection of Cherry Laurel Lane and Coriander Drive. Officials, who described the death as suspicious, are conducting an investigation.

The circumstances surrounding Powell's death are unclear. However, police said they weren't ruling out the possibility that a vehicle was involved.

Powell's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy, police said. The autopsy results are pending.
