This past summer may have been cooler than average, but the housing market certainly wasn’t! The Frederick News Post recently published the latest housing market statistics for Frederick County and the results are certainly impressive. With all the new residents we welcomed to our Villages of Urbana community, we weren’t too surprised to see our county’s housing market continue to thrive as well!

In August, there were 36 more home sales in Frederick County when compared to the same month a year ago. Additionally, steady month-to-month increases have been routine each month so far in 2014. These increases are unquestionably a good sign and some experts believe the peak buying season will extend into the cooler months, meaning the gains could continue.

He also notes that the increases may be attributed to the fact that families “want to settle on their homes prior to the start of the new school year.” And, when looking at the incredible public schools in Frederick County, it’s easy to see why!
