Storms Damage 30+ Homes, Displacing Families In Montgomery County
Tuesday's storms damaged upwards of 30 homes, displacing families. Trees reportedly fell on cars across Montgomery County.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A line of severe storms swept through Montgomery County Tuesday, damaging upwards of 30 homes and displacing dozens of families, according to Montgomery County Fire Chief Scott Goldstein
Around 6 p.m. Tuesday, the storm hit Olney and damaged dozens of homes along Morningwood and Queen Elizabeth drives, reports WJLA. Some trees crashed onto cars in the area. One resident told WJLA that he's lived in the neighborhood for 30 years and hasn't seen a storm leave this much damage.
Trees were also down on multiple cars in the area, including one tree that crushed a Honda Civic.

Accuweather reported injuries sustained by one student at the University of Maryland in College Park when the home the student was in was split in the center. Both in-person and online classes at the college were canceled Wednesday due to the widespread power outage.
