Teen's Death At Gaithersburg Lake Was Accidental Drowning

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Montgomery County Police released the name of the 14-year-old boy whose body was found in Maple Lake June 17.

The victim is identified as Kodjo Jean-Claude Ayewou of Gaithersburg, police said. An autopsy revealed the cause and manner of death to be an accidental drowning.

A groundskeeper found Ayewou's personal belongings near the lake and called the police. Rescue personnel found and recovered the body in the water, and the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
