MoCo Banker Wins Over $150K From Lottery

The Montgomery County resident purchased a $5 FAST PLAY ticket that resulted in a six-figure prize.

GERMANTOWN, MD — A Montgomery County resident was recently left stunned and having to double check her lottery ticket after winning over $150,000.

The woman, identified as a Clarksburg resident who works in banking, snagged her winning ticket Feb. 16 from the Harris Teeter on 22700 Sweet Shrub Drive.

She said the ticket she selected was for the $5 FAST PLAY Chili Pepper Payout progressive jackpot game. But, after scanning the ticket and being informed she won, she was stumped on what the winnings were.

It wasn't until the Clarksburg resident went to another store to confirm that she realized just how much she'd won.

“The other cashier pointed out how I had a matching number and that it was a progressive jackpot win,” she said. “Then he pointed to the $158,107 printed big as day right in front of my eyes.”

FAST PLAY games display the winning amount directly on the ticket for progressive jackpots.

The winner now plans to use the funds to manage her finances and place the remaining amount into savings.
