Cabbie Charged With Raping Woman Passenger In Glen Burnie

Anne Arundel County Police fear there may be victims who haven't come forward after a Glen Burnie cab driver was charged with rape.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Anne Arundel County Police fear there may be victims who haven't come forward to report sexual assaults by a Glen Burnie cab driver. Robert Peter Johnson, 38, of the 700 block of Wimmer Road in Glen Burnie, faces rape charges for allegedly assaulting a woman who was his passenger.

The victim called police about 11 a.m. on Nov. 13 to report that she contacted and used a local taxi service earlier that morning. During the trip the driver — later identified as Johnson — turned onto a secluded road in the area of McGivney Way near Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. While there, police say Johnson forced the victim to engage in sex acts against her will. He then dropped the victim off and she called police.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and evidence collection. Detectives contacted the local taxi company and learned who had handled the victim's fare. The operator of the taxi’s description matched the victim's description of her assailant.
