Captain Avery Museum's $5K Raffle is Under Way

Captain Avery Museum’s 26th annual raffle has started, and the grand prize is $5,000.

Proceeds from ticket sales are used to support Captain Avery Museum’s programs and activities and help with the upkeep and maintenance of the museum’s grounds.

The winning ticket will be drawn at the Oyster Festival at Captain Avery Museum, 1418 EW Shady Side Road, on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. Don’t worry about not being able to attend the festival. You don’t need to be present in order to win.

Tickets for the raffle are $5 each and can be purchased through mail by sending a check payable to the Captain Avery Museum at P.O. Box 89, Shady Side, Maryland 20764; through phone by calling 410-867-4486; or through local merchants and museum board members.

Tickets will also be available at the Oyster Festival prior to the drawing.
