Glen Burnie Men Arrested In Shooting Death At Pool Party
Two men police say had a role in a deadly shooting at a Glen Burnie pool party July 5 have been arrested.
GLEN BURNIE, MD — One man has been charged with murder and another faces weapons charges in the death of a 29-year-old man who was shot in the 500 block of Everett Road in Glen Burnie on July 5. Officers responded to the scene for a call about shots fired when they found James Antonio Diggs 4th of Gwynn Oak suffering from gunshot wounds.
On July 9, Anne Arundel County Police named Jacovi Devaughn Johnson, 21, of Glen Burnie, as the accused shooter. He was apprehended during a traffic stop in Ocean City. Johnson has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, three counts each of first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and firearm-related charges.
Diggs was at a pool party in Glen Burnie, Patch reported previously, when gunshots were fired. Diggs was taken by the fire department to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

While investigating the incident, detectives discovered that two other shooting victims, a 21-year-old woman and a 27-year- old man, had shown up at area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
A witness watched two men climb out of a vehicle and one dumped a handgun in the bushes near the intersection of Pamela Road and Old Stage Road in Glen Burnie. The location wasn't too far from the shooting scene and, according to the Anne Arundel Police Department, matched evidence found at the crime scene.

Officers arrested Dion Isom Sanders, 29, from the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court. He has been charged with having a handgun, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm minor.
